A special visitor

Today our class had the wonderful opportunity to meet and talk with Glenn Marais. He was working with our intermediate classes, but he was able to pop down and speak with our class. It was absolutely wonderful watching students talk to Glenn and tell him how they have been kind. One student read a story she wrote at home. The story was about ways she has been kind to her family. Another student showed the Anti-bullying poster he made at home and talked about how we should treat others. Another child talked about all of the acts of kindness they have done at school and at home. Another student shared how she took on the role of going from classroom to classroom each day to collect the totals of each classes’ acts of kindness. She then explained how we used the numbers in math and then entered the totals on the website.¬†

The students showed great pride explaining how they took on the Kindness Challenge at school and how they also worked at home to be kind. Glenn then sang his new song, Say My Name to the class. His album is available on iTunes.

The students watched and listened in awe. They were thrilled to see his guitar and hear his message about kindness. The visit recognized our students’ hard work in the area of kindness. Thank you Glenn, for taking the time to speak with our Kindergarten students.

  1. Thanks for your post. My wife and I were fortunate enough to see Glenn at Holland Landing PS, he really connects with the kids.
