Little writers and artists

Our students are becoming fabulous writers and artists. This week we saw a big improvement in their drawings and recording of sounds. After hearing the story Mouse Paint, students were invited to draw a picture that matched the story. Here is a link to the story.

Here is a sampling of the drawings. Notice how the drawings look like mice. Notice how initial sounds are being used to represent words. M for mouse, p for paint. Look at our writers who are now forming sentences. Notice their spaces between words, their use of lower case letters and their use of initial, middle and final sounds. Book responses are a fabulous opportunity for all students to show what they know.
