Willowgrove Outdoor Education Center

We had a fabulous trip to Willowgrove Outdoor Center yesterday. We learned about camouflage. We collected wool worms and sorted them by colour. We discussed how birds could find red worms easier than brown worms. We learned about insects and went on a bug hunt. Later we went wading in a stream and used containers to catch water bugs. It was a day of wonder, excitement and discovery.

What a wonderful example of inquiry, wonder, discovery and learning. Thanks Angie for sharing through words and photos how important leanings are happening in your class. For example, I doubt that many or any of your children will ever forget the meaning for the word camouflage. What a meaningful way to develop academic vocabulary! And what great stories they will have to share at home. Miriam
