Olympic Fever

Olympic spirit filled our room this week. Today we viewed and cheered as the Canadian Olympians walked into the stadium. image

Some of our students wore Olympic wear today and one brought in a bear. image

We read about the youngest member of the Canadian Olympic Team, Gabrielle Daleman. We watched a clip about this young skater from Newmarket. http://olympics.cbc.ca/videos/video/gabrielle-daleman-feature.html

The schedule shows she is skating tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. ET. I hope some of our students have the opportunity to watch her skate or watch some portion of the games over the weekend.

On Saturday, our parent council is hosting the Shiver ‘N’ Shake Carnival from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There will be a silent auction, a pancake breakfast, team sled races, storytelling, vendors, face painting and much more. I hope to see some faces out supporting our school community.
Happy Weekend!

  1. The team skating occurred today. The ladies free skate is on Wednesday at 10 a.m. We will try to stream it in class and watch it together.
    Happy Olympic watching!
