Seeds, seeds, seeds

We have started an inquiry on seeds in our environment. We have read a few picture books about seeds and we gathered some seeds from our schoolyard. Mrs. Greenham has helped the students with their initial wonderings about seeds and is working with the students to understand how seeds travel. She actually wore burrs on her sweater yesterday in order to generate a conversation about one way seeds travel. As you walk with your child, talk about the seeds you encounter. Talk about their wonderings. Look around and notice together the seasonal changes and how they impact our gardens, trees and foods we eat. Thanks for being a partner in our learning journey.

If you are reading this post from outside Canada or if you have family or other connections in another part of the world, we would like to connect and compare seeds.
