Apps for letter identification and formation

In our k class we use iPads as a learning tool. This week I have introduced the app LetterSchool this app provides a lot of support for students. It models how to form the letter. It helps as the child learns how to make the letter and coaches the child through the formation of the letter. The app also has a time in which it lets students write the letter on their own. If you are looking for apps to support your child at home you might want to consider Letter School.

A free app Alphabet Tracer is also good for supporting letter formation but it does have in app pruchases.

Over the course of the year, I will be posting more app suggestions both in the biweekly newsletters and on our blog.

Do you have any recommendations for similar apps for android devices? These are not available through google play and we do not have an I-pad.

    • Google Play Apps
I have not used any of the Google Play apps. I can only go by the descriptions on line. I suggest you try them out and then decide what is best for your family.

We use word and letter apps in class.
      You might want to try
      Kids Letters Tracing
      Alphabet, Numbers and Colors F
      Fridge Letter Magnets Widget

Apps we use in class and I have found on Google Play

      Glow Draw
      Skywriter
