I’m often asked by parents what they should pack for their child to eat while at school. We have an open snack time in the morning around 9:30 a.m. ish or sometimes after recess at 10:20 a.m. I encourage students to select a healthy morning snack in order to give their brain some food for learning. Healthy snacks such as fresh fruit, cut up vegetables, cheese and crackers, yogurt, yogurt tubes or muffins would be ideal. We do ask the students to save their cookies and treats for after their lunch. It would be helpful if you could talk with your child about which items are their morning snacks each day.

Our students have discussed this story and talked about ways to make sure all of our classmates are safe. I am very proud of how respectful they are of each other. We are building a wonderful and support community of learners.
