Fire Fighters Visit

On Thursday, three fire fighters visited our classroom. There were a few key messages that were shared with us.

1. There is a difference between tools and toys. Know the difference. Don’t play with tools.

They played a game with the students and showed them items such as a beach ball, a hammer, skipping rope and lighter. He also talked about not putting skipping ropes around necks.

2. Fire fighters wear gear to protect themselves from fire in order to help us. Don’t be afraid of a fire fighter who is dressed like this, he/she is there to help.

The fire fighter also said, sometimes they are crawling on the floor too and they don’t want you to hide. Call out to them.

We also had the wonderful opportunity to see the fire truck and actually sit inside. The students were beaming!

Please review fire safety with your family. Talk about what do in in the event of a fire and discuss a family meeting place.

Thank you to our local fire department for an incredible learning experience!
